Terms of Service
CUT! (Choose the Ultimate Title) · Last updated: 15 June 2026
The short version. CUT! is a free movie-bracket game provided “as is.” Use it for fun, don’t misuse it, and understand that movie posters, previews, and data belong to their respective owners — not to us. We do our best, but we can’t promise it’s perfect or always available.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By using CUT! (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service. If you use CUT! on behalf of others (for example, in a group game), you’re responsible for their use too.
2. The Service
CUT! helps you find a favourite film through a knockout tournament of movies you choose or import. It’s offered free of charge. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may pause or discontinue the Service without notice.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its providers;
- scrape, copy, or redistribute content from the Service in bulk; or
- misuse import features to upload data you don’t have the right to use.
4. Intellectual property
Movie titles, posters, artwork, soundtrack previews, and related data are the property of their respective owners (studios, distributors, and content providers). CUT! displays this material to help you identify films and does not claim ownership of it. The CUT! name, design, code, and original game mechanics are ours and may not be copied without permission.
5. Third-party content and links
The Service shows content from, and links to, third-party services such as Wikipedia, Apple’s iTunes catalogue, and streaming-availability providers. We don’t control those services and aren’t responsible for their content, availability, or terms. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.
6. Affiliate links
Some outbound links — for example “Where to watch” — may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a small commission if you click through or make a purchase, at no extra cost to you. This never changes the result of your tournament or what we recommend.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that posters, previews, or data will always be correct or available.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CUT! and its creator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains the limited, anonymous data we handle.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
